Are you ready to make an impact with the world’s leading specialist engineering contractor for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and copolymer projects?  The ECI Group, is searching for a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized HPPE Process Control Systems Engineer to join our Shanghai High Pressure Polyethylene Business and Technology Unit team.  As a member of our team you will be engaged in the evaluation of our existing LDPE / Copolymer processes, review our existing and develop new process control strategies (as required) and ensure that our processes comply with industry specifications, norms and regulations.  If you’re passionate about innovation, collaboration, and making a difference, ECI Group wants to hear from you. 

You will provide commissioning support at various sites around the world (mainly China) as required. 

• Produce Process Control Narratives on Projects.
• Produce SIS/DCS binary logic diagrams based on cause & effect diagrams or sequence description/flow charts with help as required from the process and/or instrument engineer.
• Commissioning support including helping the Client / Contractor during initial plant start-up with particular emphasis on DCS programming assistance.
• Attendance at and contribution to P&ID and HAZOP/LOPA reviews as required.
• Proficiency in process simulation (ASPEN) and control system software.
• Identify areas that need process control optimization and provide solution as required.
• Adhere to company safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Keeping abreast of developments and innovation in process control engineering.
• Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or in an industry-related field of specialization such as Chemical, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
• At least four years' experience in process control engineering in a related industry.
• Experience with PLC systems and control system programming languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams).
• Detailed knowledge of process control system hardware and software required. Honeywell or ABB DCS experience preferred.  
• Modicon, Triconex and Allen-Bradley PLC systems experience preferred.  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java
• Experience in designing and implementing process control systems
• Strong knowledge of automated control systems and instrumentation
• Experience in troubleshooting control systems especially during initial start-up.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Strong understanding of process control systems and associated software.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines such as API, ASME, NFPA, ANSI, ISA and NEMA.
• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Superb analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Great organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
• Open to international travel.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the Mainland China without sponsorship.
