As part of the ECI Group HPPE BTU the purpose of the HPPE Advanced Technology and Licensing Support Manager role is to provide managerial and technology leadership  to the technology development and to coordinate technology support and licensing activities around High Pressure Polyethylene (LDPE and HP Copolymers).  

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Identify, manage and deliver Technology Development Initiatives to establish and maintain ECIG HPPE offering as world leader.
  • Ensure technology development works hand in hand and is prepared to positively respond to client requests through sales dept.
  • Anticipate Technical Annex needs for technology improvement as well as new capacity and new product offerings.
  • Execute continuous improvement of product, technology, and capacity offerings that enables ECIG to lead each license bid from technical standpoint worldwide.
  • Maintain ECIG core technology (process, mechanical, piping, product, etc.) offerings and liaise with projects to ensure core technology is clearly and consistently applied to projects.
  • Generate, standardize where relevant, and maintain updated Technology Guidelines and other technology related documentation such as Commissioning Guidelines, Training Packages and Project Manuals.
  • Serve as main contact for company with product partner with respect to their role on ECIG licenses (technology and product support) including continuous improvement of product offerings.
  • Oversee organization and preparation of of post-engineering (commissioning, startup, and warranty run support) team, documentation, and preparation..
  • Ensure all project related technology deliverables and services are completed according to contractual requirements, including meeting all project due dates.
  • Properly schedule all off-project technology development initiatives and meet all due dates.
  • Develop cost-effective (CAPEX and OPEX) improvements to ECIG's base HPPE offerings, keeping in mind leveragability considerations by projects.
  • Complete all work (project-based and overhead/development-based) on budget.
  • “Increase margin per project” - actively develop additional services/scope where increased margin per project can be realized.
  • Ensure ECIG HPPE technology offering maintains at all times safety and operability considerations as primary.
  • Ensure ECIG HPPE technology offering meets all warranted performance aspects.
  • Ensure ECIG HPPE technology does not infringe on other IP and verify adequate IP protection is in place for our own offerings.
  • Maintain and build technology development staff to enable sustainable support over 15+ years including internal development and recruitment of new members to properly support all active and future projects.
  • Develop work processes such that successor in the role can perform quickly.
Background Profile
  • Bachelor’s Degree Chemical Engineering is required. 
  • Chartered Engineer (non-US) or Professional Engineer (US),
  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in HPPE in the areas of research, technology, operations and capital projects cycle.
  • Experience leading employees.
  • Knowledgeable of performance base management process.
  • Experience with employee career development process.
  • Knowledgeable with improvement process.
  • Coordinate, influence and lead the activities described above.
  • Promote a team environment of mutual respect with open communication, celebration of success and provide frequent positive reinforcement.
  • Comfortable with occasional opportunities for international travel.
